Object remover FAQ
Quick answers about privacy, quality, supported objects, file limits and legality.
How do I remove an object from a video for free?
Open the tool, choose your video, draw a box over the object, click Remove and download the result. It is free, needs no account and runs in your browser.
Can I remove a moving person from a video?
No. This tool uses a fixed box and fills it in using surrounding pixels. If a person walks across the screen, the tool cannot track them, and the box will just blur whatever passes through it.
What kind of objects can I remove?
You can remove static objects. For example, a sign on a wall, a lamp on a desk, a cup sitting on a table, or a logo on a shirt. As long as the object stays completely still, the tool can remove it.
Can I remove an object without uploading my video?
Yes. The video is processed by FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, running inside your browser tab. The file never leaves your device.
Why does the area look blurry after removal?
Because the filter fills the box by blending nearby pixels. Blur shows most on detailed backgrounds and with large boxes. Draw the box as tight as possible.
How does the delogo filter work?
You mark a rectangle. For every frame, the filter blends the pixels around the rectangle inward to cover the object. It is a classic, fast filter that works best on small, static marks.
Does it keep the audio?
Yes. The audio track is copied from the original video without re-encoding.
What video formats are supported?
MP4, WebM and MOV. For other formats, convert to MP4 first. The output is an MP4 (H.264).
What this tool can and cannot remove
The tool uses FFmpeg's delogo filter. It fills one fixed rectangle using the pixels around it. That makes it fast, private and free, and it also sets clear limits. Check your object against this table before you start.
| Object type | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static object (sign, lamp, cup) | Works well | The best case. If the object never moves, it is cleaned convincingly on most footage. |
| Small object on a textured wall | Works, with caveats | Fine on plain backgrounds. On detailed backgrounds the patch can look soft or blurry. |
| Moving object or person | Not supported | The filter fixes one box position. If the object walks across the screen, the tool cannot follow it. |
| Large object covering half the screen | Poor | There is not enough surrounding detail to fill in a massive area convincingly. |
| Object over a face or fine detail | Poor | There is not enough surrounding detail to fill in convincingly. |
Tips for a cleaner result
Keep the box tight
A box that is only slightly larger than the object gives the cleanest fill. A big box turns into a visible blur.
Moving objects are not supported
If you want to remove a person walking or a car driving, this tool will not work. It only removes objects that stay in the exact same place for the whole video.
Check on a busy frame
Scrub to a frame with a detailed background behind the object before you commit. If it looks soft there, it will look soft everywhere.
Multiple passes
If a large object leaves a very blurry patch, try drawing smaller boxes over different parts of the object and running the removal multiple times.
ToolDeck vs cloud object removers
Cloud AI tools upload your video, track moving objects and regenerate the hidden area. ToolDeck trades that for privacy and no limits: nothing is uploaded, and the full download is free.
| Feature | TToolDeck | Cloud AI removers |
|---|---|---|
| Your video is uploaded to a server | None | Yes, deleted after processing |
| Free full-length download | Yes | Free preview of the first 5 seconds |
| No sign-up needed | Yes | Yes |
| No daily usage limits | Yes | Varies by plan |
| Removing moving objects/people | No | yes (AI tracking) |
| Complex or busy backgrounds | Can look blurry | Yes |
What you get for free
FFmpeg in your browser
WebAssembly-powered FFmpeg processes the video on your device. No server queue and no upload.
Draw your own box
Click and drag to draw a box around the object. Keep the box as tight as possible to the edges of the object.
Edge-based fill
The delogo filter replaces the pixels inside your box using the pixels around it. It is fast and predictable.
High-quality re-encode
The output is re-encoded as H.264 at high quality. The audio track is copied from the original untouched.
No preview limit
Download the full video, not a 5-second preview. No credits, no account and no daily cap.
No software install
Works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.
Use it on content you have the right to edit
Remove objects only from videos you own or have permission to modify, such as your own recordings, your own exports, or footage you are licensed to edit. You are responsible for how you use the result.

Your video never leaves your device
There is no upload step and no account. The FFmpeg engine runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your video is never sent to a server. You can confirm this in your browser's Network tab while the tool runs. Read how we keep it private.
