Video watermark remover FAQ
Quick answers about privacy, quality, supported watermarks, file limits and legality.
How do I remove a watermark from a video for free?
Open the tool, choose your MP4, WebM or MOV file, draw a box over the watermark, click Remove and download the result. It is free, needs no account and runs in your browser, so there is no upload and no preview limit.
Can I remove a watermark from a video without uploading it?
Yes. The video is processed by FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, running inside your browser tab. The file never leaves your device. To check, open your browser developer tools, watch the Network tab while you process a video, and confirm no request carries your file.
What is a Video Watermark Remover?
A tool that removes a logo, text overlay or watermark from a video file. This one uses FFmpeg's delogo filter, which replaces the selected area using the pixels around it.
How does the delogo filter work?
You mark a rectangle. For every frame, the filter blends the pixels around the rectangle inward to cover the logo. It is a classic, fast filter that works best on small, static marks. It is interpolation, not AI, so it cannot invent detail that was hidden behind the watermark.
Can I remove a logo or text from a video, not just a watermark?
Yes, if it stays in the same place for the whole clip. Draw the box over the logo, channel bug or fixed text overlay. Subtitles that change position or size, and text that moves, are not supported.
Will it remove TikTok, Instagram or Sora watermarks?
Only if the watermark stays in one place. Many short-video and AI-video watermarks move between corners or drift during the clip, and a fixed box cannot follow them. For moving watermarks you would need a tracking-based AI remover, or you should download the original without the mark where the platform offers it.
Why does the area look blurry after removal?
Because the filter fills the box by blending nearby pixels. Blur shows most on detailed backgrounds and with large boxes. Draw the box as tight as possible, and expect better results on plain or softly lit backgrounds.
How is this different from AI watermark removers?
AI removers upload your video to a server, track moving watermarks and regenerate the hidden area, which usually looks better on complex footage. This tool trades that for privacy and simplicity: nothing is uploaded, there are no credits or preview limits, but it only handles static marks and can blur busy backgrounds.
Is it legal to remove a watermark from a video?
It depends on who owns the video and why you are removing the mark. Removing your own logo, or a watermark on footage you have a licence to edit, is generally fine. Removing someone else's watermark to republish their work without permission can infringe copyright and, in some countries, laws on removing copyright management information. Use this tool only on content you own or have the right to modify. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is this tool free?
Yes. It is free with no daily cap, no credits and no sign-up. The practical limit is your device memory, because the video is processed locally.
Is it safe to use? Does it upload my video?
It does not upload your video. Processing happens entirely in your browser, so there is no server copy of your video to store, leak or delete later.
What video formats are supported?
MP4, WebM and MOV. For other formats such as AVI or MKV, convert to MP4 first. The output is an MP4 (H.264).
What are the file size limits?
Files up to 300 MB on desktop and 100 MB on mobile. Larger files can exhaust browser memory. Trim the clip first to stay within the limit.
Does it keep the audio?
Yes. The audio track is copied from the original video without re-encoding.
Does removal reduce video quality?
The video is re-encoded as high-quality H.264, so there is a small generation loss, usually not visible. The filled area itself can look softer than the rest of the frame, depending on the background.
What happens if the watermark moves?
The delogo filter applies one fixed box to the whole video. If the watermark changes position, it will stay visible where it moves to, and the box area will show a blur in the original position.
What if the watermark is large?
Large boxes give soft, smeared results because there is too little surrounding detail. For a large watermark, consider cropping the frame, covering it with your own logo or text, or using the original clip.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in modern mobile browsers, with a 100 MB file limit. Processing a long video on a phone is slow, so a laptop is better for anything beyond short clips.
Do I need to install software or an app?
No. It runs in your browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS. Nothing to download or install before you start.
Can I process several videos at once?
Not at the moment. The tool handles one video at a time. Cloud AI tools that offer batch processing do so by uploading your files to their servers.
What this tool can and cannot remove
The tool uses FFmpeg's delogo filter. It fills one fixed rectangle using the pixels around it. That makes it fast, private and free, and it also sets clear limits. Check your watermark against this table before you start.
| Watermark type | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Static logo in a corner | Works well | The best case. A small logo that never moves is cleaned convincingly on most footage. |
| Fixed text overlay or caption | Works, with caveats | Fine on plain backgrounds. On detailed backgrounds the patch can look soft or blurry. |
| Small semi-transparent logo | Usually works | Draw the box tight around it. Larger faint logos leave a visible smear. |
| Moving or bouncing watermark | Not supported | The filter fixes one box position for the whole video. Short-video app watermarks that change corner will not be removed. |
| Tiled or full-frame watermark | Not supported | The box would have to cover most of the frame. Use the original clip without a watermark if you can. |
| Logo over a face or fine detail | Poor | There is not enough surrounding detail to fill in convincingly. |
Tips for a cleaner result
Keep the box tight
A box that is only slightly larger than the logo gives the cleanest fill. A big box turns into a visible blur.
Trim first
Cut the clip to the part you need with the Video Trimmer, and shrink big files with the Video Compressor. Shorter files process faster and use less memory.
Check on a busy frame
Scrub to a frame with detailed background behind the logo before you commit. If it looks soft there, it will look soft everywhere.
Use the original if you can
If you made the video, re-export it from your editor without the logo. That always beats any removal filter.
ToolDeck vs cloud AI watermark removers
Cloud AI tools such as Vmake upload your video, track moving watermarks and regenerate the hidden area, which looks better on complex footage. ToolDeck trades that for privacy and no limits: nothing is uploaded, and the full download is free. Pick based on your footage.
| Feature | TToolDeck | Cloud AI removers (e.g. Vmake) |
|---|---|---|
| Your video is uploaded to a server | None | Yes, deleted after processing (per its site) |
| Free full-length download | Yes | Free preview of the first 5 seconds |
| No sign-up needed | Yes | Yes |
| No daily usage limits | Yes | Varies by plan |
| Moving or drifting watermarks | No | Yes |
| Complex or busy backgrounds | Can look blurry | Yes |
| Batch processing | No | Up to 30 files |

What you get for free
FFmpeg in your browser
WebAssembly-powered FFmpeg processes the video on your device. No server queue and no upload. Speed depends on your device and the length of the video.
Draw your own selection
Click and drag to draw a box around the watermark. Works for corner logos, stock footage marks and fixed text overlays.
Edge-based fill
The delogo filter replaces the pixels inside your box using the pixels around it. It is fast and predictable, but it is interpolation, not AI generation.
High-quality re-encode
The output is re-encoded as H.264 at high quality, so there is a small generation loss. The audio track is copied from the original untouched.
No preview limit, no paywall
Download the full video, not a 5-second preview. No credits, no account and no daily cap.
No software install
Works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS. No Photoshop or Premiere Pro required.
Use it on content you have the right to edit
Remove watermarks only from videos you own or have permission to modify, such as your own branding, your own exports, or footage you are licensed to edit. Removing someone else's watermark to republish their work can infringe copyright and may break other laws. You are responsible for how you use the result.
