Does the word counter upload my text?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your text never leaves your device, so it is safe for confidential drafts.
How do you count words?
Words are separated by spaces, tabs and line breaks, the same way Microsoft Word and Google Docs count them.
How do you calculate reading time?
Reading time uses 225 words per minute, the average adult reading speed for non-fiction. Speaking time uses 150 words per minute, the standard rate for presentations.
What counts as a sentence?
Any run of text that ends with a period, question mark or exclamation mark. Consecutive punctuation counts as one sentence end.
What is Flesch Reading Ease?
A readability score from 0 (very hard) to 100 (very easy). 60-70 is plain English. Most web content aims for 60 or higher.
How is keyword density calculated?
We take every word with 3+ letters, remove common stopwords, and show the top 10 with their count and share of total words.
Can I save my draft?
Yes. Your text is saved locally in your browser as you type. When you come back, your draft is still there.
Can I convert case too?
Yes. There are one-click buttons for UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and aLtErNaTiNg.
Can I download my text?
Yes. Download as .txt straight from the toolbar.
Is there a character limit?
No. The tool handles very long documents. Only the platform bars show limits, and they do not stop your typing.
