What are Hormozi-style captions?

Hormozi-style captions are bold, all-caps, word-by-word captions popularised by Alex Hormozi’s short-form videos. Two or three words appear on screen at a time, in a heavy sans-serif with a thick outline, centred in the frame, with the word that carries the point highlighted in colour. The style is designed so a viewer watching with the sound off can read the script in the time it takes to say it. ToolDeck generates these captions on your device with Whisper speech recognition and lets you export a burned-in MP4 or SRT, with no watermark and no account.

It is best for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, sales videos and any short-form content where the captions carry the message. It is not a full motion-graphics tool: automatic emoji placement and automatic keyword detection are not included. You choose the accent colour and restyle individual words. The AI speech model recognises English today; imported SRT or VTT files can be styled in any language.

How to make Hormozi captions in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Drop in your video

Open the tool and drop an MP4, WebM or MOV file. The file is opened in your browser and is not uploaded. For 9:16, switch the ratio before exporting.

  2. 2

Generate captions and choose the style

Press Generate Captions. Whisper transcribes the English speech on your device with word-level timing. Choose the Hormozi-style bold preset, pick the keyword accent colour, and set 2–3 words on screen. Fix any words on the timeline.

  3. 3

    Export MP4 or SRT

Press Export to render a burned-in MP4 with the captions drawn on the picture. Or download the captions as SRT or VTT for YouTube, Premiere, DaVinci or CapCut. No watermark on either export.

Hormozi caption features

  • One-click Hormozi-style captions

Open-source Whisper transcribes English speech on your device and applies a bold, all-caps, word-by-word caption style inspired by Alex Hormozi’s short-form videos. Two or three words on screen, heavy sans-serif, thick outline, keyword picked out in colour. The model downloads once and your audio never leaves your device.

  • Keyword highlighting and colour control

Pick the accent colour for key words — yellow for emphasis, green for money and wins, red for warnings. The keyword style is applied consistently across the captions, so numbers and payoff words stand out as the viewer reads.

  • 40+ caption styles, not just Hormozi

The same captions can be styled as clean white subtitles, karaoke highlights, word-pop or neon. Switch style after generating without re-transcribing. Each style uses the same timings.

  • Editable word-level timing

Every word is timed. Click a caption to fix a word, drag it to retime, split a line or delete it. Late captions kill the Hormozi effect, so the live preview lets you verify the sync before exporting.

  • Burn into MP4 or export SRT

Export a burned-in MP4 with the captions drawn on the picture, or download the same captions as SRT or VTT for YouTube, Premiere, DaVinci or CapCut. The MP4 export uses WebCodecs on GPU or CPU.

  • No upload, no sign-up, no watermark

Everything runs inside your browser tab. There is no account, no email wall, no credit system and no watermark on exports. Hormozi-style captions without the paid preset.

  • Works with silence removal and TikTok ratio

Hormozi captions are usually paired with tight jump-cut editing and 9:16 framing. Generate captions, remove silence, switch to 9:16 and export — all from the same timeline.

  • Fonts free for commercial use

Anton and Montserrat Black are on Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, so the look you export is safe for commercial video. No font licensing surprise after publishing.

What you can make with Hormozi captions

  • TikTok, Reels and Shorts

The style was built for short-form. Two or three bold words at a time, keyword in colour, centred in the frame, clear of the platform buttons. Export a 9:16 MP4 ready to post.

  • Sales and business videos

Hormozi-style captions are popular in business and offer videos because the keyword highlight draws the eye to numbers, results and the payoff line.

  • Hook-first content

The first two seconds decide whether a viewer scrolls. Bold word-by-word captions make the hook readable even with the sound off.

  • Podcast and interview clips

Turn a talking-head clip into a short-form video with bold captions. Pair with silence removal to cut the pauses first.

  • Faceless and b-roll videos

When there is no face to hold attention, the captions carry the video. Hormozi-style captions work well over b-roll, stock footage and screen recordings.

  • Course and coaching promos

Bold captions make lesson highlights and coaching promos readable on mute, which is how most social video is first watched.

  • Private or client footage

Everything runs locally, so you can caption client clips, internal videos and unreleased content without uploading a file.

  • Non-native English audiences

Bold, short captions are easier to follow than long subtitle lines. The style helps viewers who read English as a second language keep up.

Hormozi captions FAQ

Answers about what Hormozi captions are, fonts and colours, pricing, privacy, editing, export and licensing.

What Hormozi captions are

What are Hormozi-style captions?

Hormozi-style captions are the bold, all-caps, word-by-word captions popularised by entrepreneur Alex Hormozi’s short-form videos. Two or three words appear on screen at a time, a heavy sans-serif font with a thick outline or shadow, centred in the frame, with the word that carries the point picked out in colour. The style is designed so the viewer can read the script in the time it takes to say it.

Why are they called Hormozi captions?

The style is named after Alex Hormozi, co-founder of Acquisition.com and author of $100M Offers. His short-form clips popularised the look, and caption tools now ship a “Hormozi” preset that copies it. There is no official published spec from his team; the look as caption tools describe and copy it is the reference.

What font do Hormozi captions use?

Caption tools do not agree on one font. Anton and Montserrat Black are the most common free choices, and both are on Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, so they are safe for commercial video. This tool uses a heavy sans-serif preset and lets you switch fonts.

What colours do Hormozi captions use?

White text, a black outline or shadow, and one accent colour for key words. Yellow is the usual emphasis colour, green is common for money and wins, and red is used for warnings and mistakes. Your brand colour works too, as long as it contrasts with white.

How many words should be on screen at once?

Two or three words is the Hormozi look. One word is punchier but harder to read. Four or more loses the effect. Break at natural pauses, not mid-phrase.

Do Hormozi captions work with the sound on?

Yes, but the style is designed for silent viewing. Most short-form video is watched with the sound off at least some of the time, so the captions are the script. The bold keywords tell a skimming viewer what the sentence is about before it ends.

Free, watermark and privacy

Are these Hormozi captions really free?

Yes. ToolDeck sets no credits, no daily cap and no sign-up. The tool adds no watermark to exported videos or subtitle files. The practical limits come from your device: browser memory, processor speed and a 1 GB limit per imported file.

Do exports have a watermark?

No. Exports have no ToolDeck branding, no watermark and no added audio tag. ToolDeck claims no rights over your exports.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?

No. Open the page, drop in your video and generate captions. There is no login, no email wall and no trial.

Does it upload my video?

No. Transcription and export run inside your browser tab. Your video and audio are never sent to ToolDeck servers. To verify, open your browser developer tools, go to the Network tab, then generate and export a video and watch for uploads.

Is it safe for client or unreleased footage?

Yes. Your files are processed locally and never sent to ToolDeck servers, which makes it a good fit for client footage, unreleased content and internal videos.

How is it different from paid Hormozi caption tools?

Paid tools often charge for the Hormozi preset, keyword highlighting or watermark-free export. ToolDeck includes a bold word-by-word style, keyword colour control and watermark-free MP4 export for free. It does not include automatic emoji placement or automatic keyword detection.

Making and editing captions

How do I make Hormozi-style captions?

Drop your video into the tool, press Generate Captions, and choose the bold word-by-word style. Set 2–3 words on screen, pick the keyword accent colour, and move the captions to the lower middle of the frame. Fix any words on the timeline, then export the MP4 or SRT.

Can I edit the captions after generating them?

Yes. Every caption is a normal text clip. Click it to fix a word, drag it to retime, split a line or delete it. The preview updates as you type.

Can I change the font and colours?

Yes. Choose from 40+ styles and adjust the font, size, colour, outline, highlight and position. Anton and Montserrat Black are included and are free for commercial use.

Can I highlight only certain words?

Yes. You choose the accent colour, and you can restyle individual words on the timeline. Automatic keyword detection is not included, so you pick the words that matter.

Can I add emojis?

Yes, manually. Add an emoji as a text clip and position it above or beside the caption. Automatic emoji placement is not part of the free tool.

Do the captions stay in sync with the audio?

Yes. Every word is timed, and the captions follow the timeline. If you cut silence or move clips, the captions stay aligned because they are normal timeline clips.

Can I make captions in other languages?

AI speech recognition is English-only today. For other languages, import an SRT or VTT subtitle file and apply the bold style to it.

Can I export the captions as SRT?

Yes. Export the same captions as SRT or VTT for YouTube, Premiere, DaVinci or CapCut, with identical timings.

Export, quality and browsers

What export formats are available?

Export a burned-in MP4 with captions drawn on the picture, or download the captions as SRT or VTT. The MP4 uses H.264 with AAC audio in Chrome and Edge.

What is the maximum export resolution?

Up to 4K at 60 fps if your device has enough memory and processing power. For short-form video, 1080p is usually plenty and exports faster.

Why does rendering take time?

Rendering runs on your device. GPU acceleration speeds it up when your browser supports WebCodecs. Long videos, 4K and many effects take longer. Keep the tab visible while rendering.

Which browser works best?

Chrome and Edge on desktop give the best results because they support WebCodecs. Firefox works with the compatibility engine. Safari has limited support for some canvas filters.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

The page loads on mobile, but the layout and performance are built for desktop. For serious caption work, use Chrome or Edge on a computer.

Legal and responsible use

Are the fonts safe for commercial use?

Anton and Montserrat Black are on Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, which allows commercial use. If you switch to another font, check its licence before publishing.

Can I use Hormozi-style captions commercially?

Yes. Caption style is not copyrightable. ToolDeck adds no watermark and claims no rights over your exports. The rights that matter are the rights to the footage, music, fonts and script inside the video.

Is it legal to caption any video?

Only caption footage you own or are licensed to use. Captioning does not change your rights or the rights of anyone in the video. You are responsible for how you use the result.

Tips for better Hormozi captions

  • Set words on screen to 2 or 3

The Hormozi look is two or three words at a time. One word is punchier but harder to read; four or more loses the effect. Break at natural pauses, not mid-phrase.

    Auto Caption Generator

  • Highlight only the word that carries the point

Numbers, results, verbs and payoff words. One accent colour per caption, and not in every caption. Yellow for emphasis, green for money and wins, red for warnings.

  • Keep captions in the middle, clear of platform buttons

The Hormozi style sits in the lower middle of the frame, not at the very bottom where TikTok, Reels and Shorts draw their UI. Pull captions up slightly before exporting.

  • Cut silence before you caption

Hormozi captions work with tight pacing. Remove the pauses first, then generate captions, so the words and the cuts stay in sync.

    Remove Silence from Video

  • Export 9:16 for short-form

Vertical video fills the phone screen. Switch to 9:16 and turn on blurred background if the source clip is horizontal. See the TikTok Video Editor for the full workflow.
