The on-device Whisper model is very accurate for clear English speech, usually achieving 95%+ accuracy. Background noise, heavy music, and strong accents may lower this. You can easily edit the text and timings by clicking the captions on the timeline.
Does it support other languages?
The built-in speech model is English only. For other languages, you will need to manually type the text, or use another tool to generate a transcript and then import that SRT file into ToolDeck.
How long does the transcription take?
It depends on your computer. On a modern laptop, it processes faster than real-time. On a slower computer, it might take a few minutes. Because it runs locally, there are no server queues.

Why is the generation button greyed out?
Make sure you have imported a video or audio file and that you have clicked on the timeline so the clip is selected.
The timings in the SRT seem out of sync. How do I fix this?
In the timeline, the captions are just clips. If a sentence appears too early or late, drag the edges of the caption clip to adjust when it starts and ends.
