Quick answer: which server gives the lowest ping in India?
In short: from most Indian cities, the lowest ping usually comes from servers in or near Mumbai, with Singapore as the main backup. On a good fiber connection, many players see roughly 15–40 ms in Mumbai-region games, and higher numbers for games that only offer Singapore or other distant servers.
Ping is the time a signal takes to travel from your device to a game server and back, measured in milliseconds. Lower is better. A related number, jitter, measures how much your ping changes from moment to moment, and packet loss is the share of data that never arrives. You can have a low average ping and still lag if jitter or packet loss is high, which is why a stable connection matters as much as a fast one.
Run the test above, then pick the region at the top of your results inside the game. The ranges on this page are typical values for fiber connections and will differ with your ISP, your street and the time of day.

What is a good ping for gaming?
These are general guidelines. Fast-reaction games such as Valorant and CS2 feel latency more than slower-paced games.
| Ping | Rating | What it feels like |
|---|---|---|
| Under 20 ms | Excellent | Feels instant. Ideal for competitive shooters such as Valorant and CS2. |
| 20–50 ms | Good | Smooth for almost every game, including ranked play. |
| 50–80 ms | Playable | Fine for BGMI, PUBG and casual play. Fast duels start to feel slightly delayed. |
| 80–120 ms | Noticeable lag | Shots and peeks register late. Look for a closer server or a better connection. |
| Over 120 ms | Poor | Rubber-banding and missed hits are common. Check your Wi-Fi, server region and ISP first. |
Best server region by Indian city
Where to connect from each major city, and the ping to expect from a good wired ISP. Smaller cities and towns usually see slightly higher numbers, since their traffic often passes through a larger city first.
| City | Best region | Typical ping | Common ISPs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mumbai | Mumbai (South Asia) | 10–25 ms | Jio Fiber, Airtel, ACT |
| Delhi / NCR | Mumbai (South Asia) | 25–40 ms | Jio Fiber, Airtel |
| Bangalore | Mumbai (South Asia) | 20–35 ms | ACT, Jio Fiber |
| Hyderabad | Mumbai (South Asia) | 20–35 ms | ACT, Jio Fiber |
| Chennai | Mumbai or Singapore | 30–50 ms | ACT, Jio Fiber |
| Kolkata | Mumbai or Singapore | 35–55 ms | Jio Fiber, Airtel |
| Pune | Mumbai (South Asia) | 15–30 ms | Jio Fiber, Airtel |
| Ahmedabad | Mumbai (South Asia) | 20–35 ms | Jio Fiber, Airtel |
Ranges are indicative for wired fiber connections and are not guarantees. Your own test result above is the reliable number for your home.

ToolDeck vs other ways to check your game ping
There is more than one way to measure latency, and each answers a different question. This table shows what each method is good for, so you know when to use which.
| Feature | ToolDeck India ping test | Speed-test sites | In-game ping display | Command line (ping / tracert) | Game VPN or booster apps |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it measures | Latency to several game-server regions at once | Latency and bandwidth to one nearby test server | Ping to the single server you are connected to | Round trip to any address you type | Latency through the provider’s own routes |
| Compares regions side by side | Yes | No | No | One address at a time | Usually shows its own list |
| Install or account needed | None. Runs in your browser | Usually none | Game installed, and you must be in a lobby or match | None, but you need a terminal | App install, often a subscription |
| Works on a phone | Yes | Yes | Yes | Not easily | Yes |
| Shows stability (jitter) | Latency and stability readings | Sometimes | Sometimes | With extra effort | Often |
| How close to real in-game ping | Close enough to compare regions, but not identical | Weak guide for game latency | Exact for that game | Some servers block ping requests | Can be lower or higher than your normal route |
| Cost | Free | Free | Free | Free | Often paid |
| Privacy | No account, no upload, no tracking | Varies by site | Handled by the game | Stays on your PC | Traffic passes through a third party |
| Best for | Choosing the right region fast | Checking download and upload speed | A final check during play | Technical diagnosis | Working around a bad ISP route |
The other columns describe common patterns across tools, not any single product. Features differ by provider.
The best approach is to combine them: use the ToolDeck test to choose a region quickly, then confirm in your game’s own ping display, and use the command line only if you need to dig into a routing problem.
Wi-Fi vs fiber vs mobile data for gaming
The server you pick matters, but so does how you reach your router. This is the order most players find, from best to worst, for competitive games.
| Connection | Latency | Stability | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wired Ethernet on fiber | Lowest | Most stable | Best choice for PC gaming. Use a short, good-quality cable. |
| 5 GHz Wi-Fi on fiber | Low | Good, if close to the router | Sit in the same room or use a mesh system. Walls reduce speed and add spikes. |
| 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi | Medium | Often unstable | Shared with neighbours, microwaves and Bluetooth, so spikes are common. |
| 5G mobile data | Low to medium | Varies with signal and congestion | Can be good with a strong signal. Test at the time you plan to play. |
| 4G mobile data | Medium to high | Less stable | Jitter is common, especially in the evening or indoors. |
How to reduce your ping in India
- 1
Use a wire, or 5 GHz Wi-Fi up close
Plug in with Ethernet if you can. On Wi-Fi, switch to the 5 GHz network and stay near the router.
- 2
Pick the nearest game server
In the game settings, choose the region that tops your test results. This is usually the Mumbai or Asia South option, or Singapore if it reads lower for you.
- 3
Close everything that uses data
Pause downloads, cloud backups, game updates and streaming on every device in the house while you play.
- 4
Restart your router and device
A router that has run for weeks can build up errors. Restart it, wait two minutes, then test again.
- 5
Avoid the busiest hours
Evenings are the busiest time on most networks. If your ping is only bad then, the problem is congestion rather than your setup.
- 6
Test a different DNS, and with and without a VPN
DNS mostly affects how fast sites start loading, not in-game ping, but a VPN can change your route. Compare results with it on and off, and keep whichever is lower.
- 7
Call your ISP with proof
If ping is high all day on a wired connection, share your test results with your provider and ask them to check the route to game servers.
Troubleshooting lag and high ping
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| High ping all the time | Wrong server region, weak Wi-Fi or a slow route from your ISP. | Switch to the region at the top of the results, use Ethernet and compare with the table above. |
| Ping spikes every few seconds | Wi-Fi interference or background downloads. | Move to 5 GHz, close other devices’ downloads and test again on a cable. |
| Good in the afternoon, bad at night | Network congestion during peak hours. | Play at quieter times, or ask your ISP about peak-hour performance. |
| Packet loss or rubber-banding | A faulty cable, poor signal or an overloaded router. | Replace the cable, move closer to the router and restart it. |
| One game is slow, others are fine | That game’s servers are far away or routed badly. | Check that game’s region setting and see its own page under "Ping tests for specific games". |
| Mobile data is much worse than Wi-Fi | Weak signal or tower congestion. | Try near a window, switch between 4G and 5G, or move to Wi-Fi. |

India ping questions
Which game server is best for India?
For most games, the region closest to India is usually the fastest. That often means servers in or near Mumbai, with Singapore as the common backup. Many games read roughly 20–40 ms from a good fiber connection. For Apex Legends, Singapore is typically the best option at around 60–90 ms. Your own test result is the final word, because routing differs between ISPs.
What is the best BGMI server for India?
Choose the Asia region that gives you the lowest ping in the lobby. For most Indian players that is the server nearest Mumbai, typically around 20–35 ms on fiber, with Singapore as the next best option. Run the test above and use the region at the top of your results.
What is a good ping for BGMI and PUBG?
Under 50 ms feels smooth for BGMI and PUBG. Between 50 and 80 ms is still playable. Above about 100 ms you will notice delayed hits and rubber-banding.
Which ISP gives the best gaming ping in India?
Fiber providers such as Jio Fiber, Airtel Xstream, ACT Fibernet and BSNL Bharat Fiber generally give the lowest and most stable ping, especially in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Local fiber providers can also be excellent. The best provider differs by city and by street, so compare tests rather than trusting a ranking. Mobile data usually adds more jitter than fiber.
Why is my ping higher in the evening in India?
Evenings, roughly 8 PM to midnight, are the busiest hours on most networks, with heavy streaming and downloading. That congestion often raises ping and jitter across providers and is usually outside your control.
Does a VPN help reduce ping in India?
Usually not, because a VPN adds an extra stop and often raises latency. It can help in rare cases where your ISP routes a specific game badly. Test with and without it and keep whichever is lower.
How do I get under 30 ms in BGMI from India?
Use wired Ethernet or close-range 5 GHz Wi-Fi, close background apps and downloads, and choose the nearest Asia server. On good fiber in a major city, readings of roughly 15–30 ms are achievable, though results depend on your ISP and the time of day.
Which is better for gaming in India, Jio or Airtel?
Both are strong, and the difference is often only a few milliseconds. Which one wins depends on your city, your area and the game. If you can, test both at the time you usually play.
How accurate is this ping test compared with in-game ping?
It is accurate enough to compare regions and spot a bad connection, but it is not identical to in-game ping. The test times short requests in your browser, while games use their own connections. Use it to choose a region, then confirm in the game’s own ping display.
Why is my ping to Singapore sometimes lower than to Mumbai?
Distance is not the only factor. Some ISPs reach certain regions through faster routes. If Singapore reads lower than Mumbai for you, use Singapore for that game.
Is 5G better than 4G for gaming?
It can be, because 5G often has lower latency, but it depends on signal strength and congestion. A strong 5G signal can be good for casual games. A wired fiber connection is still the most reliable choice for competitive play.
Does this test work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern mobile browser, so you can test on the same phone and network you use for BGMI, PUBG or Free Fire.
Is my data stored?
No. There is no account, upload or tracking. The test runs in your browser and uses only public CDN endpoints for timing.
