All PDF tools
Free browser-based PDF tools. Nothing uploaded, ever.
How it works
- 1
Drop your PDF
Drag or click to choose a PDF with tables. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored. Text PDFs work best.
- 2
Click Extract tables to Excel
The engine processes each page in your browser, grouping text into rows and columns by position.
- 3
Preview and download
See the first 200 rows as a preview, then open the .xlsx in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
Everything you get for free
One PDF, one sheet per page
Each page of the PDF becomes its own sheet in a single .xlsx file, named "Page 1", "Page 2" and so on. You can flip between pages in Excel just like a normal workbook.
Smart row and column detection
Text is grouped into rows by Y-position and into columns by X-gaps. Clean, aligned tables convert perfectly. The engine handles most invoice, statement and report layouts.
100% secure, nothing uploaded
Both PDF parsing and Excel generation happen in your browser. Bank statements, invoices and payroll data never leave your device. Open your network tab and verify.
Live preview before download
See the first 200 extracted rows as a table before you open the file in Excel. If the layout looks wrong, you know immediately, no need to open a broken .xlsx.
Auto-sized Excel columns
Each column is sized to fit its widest value (up to 60 characters). The result opens cleanly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets without the "###" overlapping text.
No file size or page limit
Free tools like Smallpdf cap at 5MB or 100 pages. This tool handles any size you can open. Multiple pages process one at a time so the browser stays responsive.
Runs fully offline after load
Once the page has loaded, you can switch off Wi-Fi and keep converting. Both the PDF engine and the Excel writer are cached in your browser.
No sign-up, no watermark
Open the tool, drop the PDF, get the .xlsx. No account, no email, no "Powered by" stamp on your spreadsheet.

Questions people ask
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Both PDF parsing and Excel generation happen in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDFs never leave your device. This is critical for bank statements, contracts, payroll data and medical records, none of it touches a server.
How does the conversion work?
The tool reads the text layer of each PDF page, records the X and Y position of every text fragment, then groups fragments into rows (by Y-position) and columns (by X-gaps). Each page becomes a separate sheet in a single .xlsx file, with auto-sized columns.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
No. Scanned PDFs are images, they have no text layer to extract. For those, use our OCR PDF tool first to add a text layer, then come back to this tool. If you drop a scanned PDF, the tool will tell you "No extractable text found".
What if my PDF has complex merged cells?
Merged cells and complex layouts do not always convert perfectly because PDF has no concept of a table, only text at positions. Clean, aligned tables convert best. Merged headers or nested tables may need a few manual fixes in Excel afterward. The preview helps you spot problems before downloading.
How many pages can I convert?
There is no hard page limit. The tool processes pages one at a time so the browser stays responsive, and a 100-page PDF typically takes 15 to 30 seconds. Very large files (500+ pages) are slow but should complete.
Can I convert multiple PDFs at once?
Not in this version, one PDF at a time. You can convert several PDFs in sequence and merge the resulting .xlsx files in Excel if needed.
What formats can I download?
Excel .xlsx (Office Open XML), the standard format that opens in Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and every modern spreadsheet app.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Both Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android work. Mobile processing is slower and Excel files open best on a desktop, but the conversion itself runs fine on a phone.
Does it work offline?
After the first use, the engines are cached. You can switch off Wi-Fi and keep converting PDFs locally. The very first load needs an internet connection.
Will the formatting be preserved?
Position-based formatting (bold, color, borders, fonts) is not carried over. The tool only extracts text content and its row and column position. The result is clean, tabular data ready for analysis, not a pixel-perfect visual copy.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit. The practical limit is your device memory, a browser can typically handle PDFs up to a few hundred megabytes. Most business PDFs are under 10 MB and process instantly.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not directly, the tool needs to open the PDF first. Remove the password (using our Unlock PDF tool) before converting, or the parser will report it as an unreadable file.
100% secure, nothing stored
Your PDF is opened, parsed and converted entirely in your browser. There is no upload step, no temporary storage, no queue, no retention. This is the right way to work with bank statements, contracts and payroll data. Read how we keep it private.
