Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Rotation happens entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device, so we cannot see them even if we wanted to.
Is it really 100% secure?
Yes. There is no upload step, no server processing, no temporary storage. Open your browser network tab while you rotate and you will not see your PDF being sent anywhere.
Will rotation re-render the PDF?
No. We only change the /Rotate flag on each page. Text stays selectable, images stay at original quality. The file size barely changes.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Choose "Selected pages" mode and enter the page numbers to rotate. The rest stay untouched.
What angle should I use?
90 degrees rotates clockwise. 180 degrees fixes upside-down pages. 270 degrees rotates counter-clockwise. If the result is wrong, run the tool again. It is non-destructive.
Does rotation stack?
If you rotate a page that already has rotation applied, the new angle replaces the old one, so it does not add up. To undo, rotate to the original angle.
Is there a file size limit?
No. iLovePDF caps free users at 5MB. We impose no limit. The practical limit is your device memory.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes, this is the most common use case. Rotation works on any PDF, scanned or digital.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android both work. No app needed.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has cached pdf-lib, you can switch off WiFi and rotate PDFs locally.
Does it preserve bookmarks and forms?
Yes, in most cases. We only modify page rotation metadata. Static content, forms and annotations are preserved when pdf-lib can read them.
Can I rotate multiple PDFs at once?
Not in this version. It handles one PDF at a time, and batch mode is on our roadmap.
